Wildfire Safety Guidance - FAQ

These FAQs have been developed for agency human resources staff, supervisors, and state employees to answer common questions regarding the State’s Wildfire Safety Guidance. The guidance was developed in consultation with a taskforce of safety and air quality experts from multiple state agencies and academic institutions. The guidance and this FAQ serves as a safety resource for state employees working in the field around worsening smoke and fire conditions during wildfire season.

The Colorado State Office of Risk Management (SORM) is dedicated to protecting state employees who may be exposed to wildfire smoke in the course of their duties. SORM’s recommendations for any state agency directing state employees to work in wildfire conditions in Colorado include:

Unemployment Fraud Claim FAQ for State Employees

These FAQs have been developed by the State Office of Risk Management (SORM) to assist State of Colorado employees in addressing potential fraudulent unemployment claims made in their name. Employers across the country and throughout Colorado have seen a dramatic increase in fraudulent unemployment claims. The U.S. government issued special unemployment benefits following the shut down of many industries due to COVID-19.

DHR Emergency & Permanent Rulemaking - Chapter 5

The general purpose of this emergency rulemaking is to modify Chapter 5 of the Personnel Director’s Administrative Procedures to provide state employees Paid Family Medical Leave effective January 1, 2021 and bridge the time gap to the promulgation of permanent rules.

The hearing to promulgate permanent rules is scheduled for hearing February 5, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. The permanent rules are tentatively scheduled to take effect April 1, 2021
