In 2019 the State Office of Risk Management (SORM) hosted its inaugural SafetyCon at Tivoli Turnhalle Theater on the Auraria Campus. The all-day event for Employee Safety Services' 2019 PEAK Safety Campaign was fully booked, with more than 150 state employees in attendance!
SafetyCon 2019 featured remarks by State Personnel Director Kara Veitch and Governor Jared Polis. Six safety champions with expertise in everything from combating the opioid crisis to defending the workplace against active shooters presented throughout the day and spoke to the importance of creating a work environment that engages employees to create change that rewards safe behaviors and continued learning.
